You sit next to her in your classes. You sit next to her in study hall. You go out to lunch together. She calls you at three in the morning just to talk. Things are going well. She leans in, you think she’s going to kiss you. She whispers, “I love you...like a brother.”
Your 55 word story is great! I love the epiphany at the end, because it is so real. I could picture the moment in my head.

ReplyDeleteThis is true beyond belief... I really do enjoy how throughout the whole story you find it quite happy, you think that it will be a happy ending, but no, he meets the fate of many other highschool guys. FRIENDZONED!
ReplyDeleteI really love this 55 word story. Although it's so short, it captures a lot about two characters that we have barely been introduced to. I really like your sentence fragments and how you choose to build up their relationship and make us think differently as to what will happen at the end of the story. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this, so good for you for capturing it in such a small space. Good job Nick!
